Bet on the NBAAfter a decent but unremarkable season in 2010-2011, the Indiana Pacers came back this year to be one of the most surprising teams in the NBA.
They are 16-7 overall and have not lost consecutive games all year. They will try to avoid dropping their second in a row tonight as the Utah Jazz come to Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
The Pacers dropped their previous game on Saturday against the Orlando Magic, scoring their fewest points of the season and displaying their worst shooting of the season at 34.1 percent. The Magic outscored the Pacers in an ugly 85-81 game, which ended Indiana's four-game win streak up to that point. But with a couple of days of rest, the Pacers should be ready to come back on Tuesday night.
While the Jazz are having a somewhat decent season at 13-10, they have struggled on the road, dropping their last three games away from Utah. The Jazz are 2-6 on the road overall, while the Pacers have done a decent job defending their home field, earning a 6-2 record in Indianapolis. Recent history is also on the Jazz's side, as they have defeated Indiana in eight of the previous ten matchups of the two.
Both teams are looking to rebound from recent losses. The Pacers fell to the Magic on Saturday, while the Jazz are coming off of a 99-88 loss in New York to the Knicks. Despite the Knicks not having Amar'e Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony, the Jazz failed to capitalize, throwing up one three-pointer after another and making few of them, along with committing 22 turnovers.
Indiana scores an average of 94.0 points per game, while allowing 90.7 points. The Jazz put up an average of 96.9 points per game, while allowing the same: 96.9 points. The sportsbook is calling the game for the Pacers, listing them as the -9 point favorites to win. The total is set at 193 ½ for tonight's game.
