Bet on the NBAThe T-Wolves head to the Southlands tonight, to meet the Grizzlies at Fed Ex Forum in Memphis. Gametime is 8:00ET.
Minnesota has not fared well in these parts, however, as they have dropped the past five decisions here. It does not get any better in the overall picture, as Memphis has had the Timberwolves number overall, posting nine wins with only one loss over the past ten. Things did get a little better, when Minnesota made a brief stop at home on Sunday and defeated Denver 117-100.
Kevin Love continues to dominate games for the Timberwolves. After a record setting performance in their double overtime loss to the Thunder when he scored 51 points in the losing effort, he came back on Sunday with another 30 points and 21 boards tying his season best in the win against the Nuggets. Unlike most players, it's news when this guy does'nt get a double, double. Sunday marked this acheivement for the forty second time this year.
The Timberwolves remain without the services of center Nikola Pekovic. Minnesota is three games away from a playoff spot in the Western Conference with an overall mark of 24-26. They are 11-14 on the road and 3-7 over their last 10.
The Grizzlies are also coming off an impressive victory on Sunday against the Lakers 102-96. It was a fine team effort as seven players scored in double figures against L.A. They shot a combined 51.2 percent from the field. Although not quite Love numbers, Zach Randolph recorded his first double, double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Randolph missed two and a half months of the season with a bum knee. Rudy Gay led the Grizzlies in scoring with 18 points.
Andrew Bynum dominated the inside against Memphis posting 30 points for Los Angeles. Memphis is in a four team battle for the sixth through the ninth spot in the standings with a playoff appearance at stake. They are currently residing in sixth at 26-21, a half game behind Dallas and only a half game ahead of ninth place Denver.
Memphis has been inserted by the sportsbook as a 5 point home favorite for a $110 wager to win $100. The same moneyline goes for the over/under of 201 points.
