Bet on the NBAWhile most of the weekend belongs to the NCAA Tournament, there are a lot of exciting games in the NBA to watch, as well.
One of the most anticipated matchups is the Portland Trail Blazers' trip to Los Angeles to play the Lakers on Sunday afternoon. The game tips off at 9:30 PM EST at the Staples Center. The Lakers are looking to reclaim the Pacific Division Title for the fourth year in a row.
The defending NBA champs are in the middle of a long stretch of games at home and have won their last three games, as well as 11 of the last 12 total. They are coming off of a 106-98 win on Friday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Despite his neck and ankle troubles, Kobe Bryant put in 18 points, while Pau Gasol put in another 25 points in the victory.
As the season nears its end, the Lakers are looking to push hard into the playoffs. They are competing with the Phoenix Suns for the Pacific Division title. Los Angeles is 24-8 when playing at home this season, and they have won five in a row at the Staples Center. The team is also looking forward to its fourth 50-win season in a row, and are one game ahead of the Dallas Mavericks for second place in the Western Conference.
The Trail Blazers are coming off of a 110-101 win in Portland against the Philadelphia 76ers. Wesley Matthews put in 28 points, while Gerald Wallace had 25 points and 8 assists. Portland is currently in sixth place in the West, and have won seven of their last nine games. But they have had problems this season beating the Lakers so far, dropping the first two meetings between the teams.
Los Angeles is making a huge run in the West right now, as they usually do in March and April leading into the playoffs. Although Portland is a good team that can play great basketball at times, they may be outmatched here. NBA odds currently list the Lakers as the 6 point favorites to win tonight, with the total set at 186.5.
