Bet on the NBAAre the Miami Heat coming off of a great performance last night or a disappointing loss?
After all, the Cleveland Cavaliers were eventually going to get their revenge on LeBron James for moving to the Heat, so the win is not that surprising. And the Heat made it into a game, coming back from a deficit of 23 points to tying the game at one point, and James ended the night with a triple-double.
While many delight in every loss the Heat experience, especially to the worst teams in the league like the Cavaliers, a loss like last night's was to be expected. Their five-game winning streak was not going to last forever. On Wednesday night, they will have a chance to begin a new streak with a game in Washington against the Wizards.
After suffering their five-game losing streak, the Heat have come back to win most of their games, and have been playing much better basketball. With the stunning loss in Cleveland, Miami is half a game behind the Boston Celtics for the second best record in the Eastern Conference. The Chicago Bulls are still the head of the East right now, and the Heat have eight games left to make a move.
If they want to win tonight, however, the Heat need to shoot better than they did last night. While the Cavaliers were on fire, hitting 55.6 percent of their shots, the Heat were held to a dismal 42.3 percent. Miami has beaten the Wizards every time in the last four meetings. The last game between the two was a 121-113 Heat win on February 25. The Heat also lead the season series 3-0.
In the last meeting between the two teams in Washington, the Wizards almost pulled off the upset. But after their loss last night, the Heat should be a bit more fired up to play. After all, while no one really expects Miami to drop two in a row to some of the worst teams in the league, they are still haunted by that five game losing streak in early March.
