One of the best from the West meets one of the worst from the East to begin the NBA basketball betting New Year. The online basketball betting general public may quickly turn to the Rockets here as the Raptors are in their worst slump of the season.
The Houston Rockets have had their best online basketball betting success on the road this year. Often times teams with a lot of big name talent such as the Rockets will find their best value against the NBA betting odds away from home as the online NBA betting public gravitates towards such teams in the role of home chalk, which kills their value.
The online basketball betting public, on the other hand, is not as eager to take power teams on the road. Houston had an overall basketball betting record of 19-11 straight up and 15-15 against the spread in NBA odds. On the road, however, Houston was 10-8 against the basketball betting board.
The Rockets also had a strong over/under online basketball betting record on the road of 13-5 over the total. Houston's basketball betting strength was their 7th ranked defense while their offense was middle of the road. No matter which way you look at it the Toronto Raptors have been one of the worst teams in online basketball betting.
Toronto had an overall record of 12-17 straight up and 11-17-1 against the NBA betting odds. At home the Raptors were an abysmal 3-10 against the spread. In fact, the road team was quite an online basketball betting value in all Toronto games this season with a mark of 18-10-1 against the spread.
Chris Bosh has been one of the few online basketball betting bright spots for Toronto as he led the team in scoring with an average of 23.2 points per game. He also led in rebounds with an average of 10 per game. Jose Calderon has been another online basketball betting asset for Toronto with an average of nearly 9 assists per game.
