Bet on the NBAThe Denver Nuggets visit the Bulls in Chicago's United Center tonight at 8:00ET. The game can be seen on NBA TV.
This is the third game of a seven game Nuggets road trip that has begun with two consecutive losses. These were not just your everyday defeats either. They were beat by the Jazz in Utah on Friday 121-102 and then proceeded to get trounced by the T-Wolves in Minnesota 117-100 on Sunday. The loss to Minnesota was their first since 2009. Kevin Love was once again amazing against the Nuggets with 30 points and adding 21 boards.
Denver rookie Kenneth Faried led all Nugget scorers with 17 points. Four other Nuggets did post double digit points, albeit, in a losing effort. The Nuggets shot over fifty percent from the field, but that was offset by 17 turnovers. Denver played without Danilo Gallanari who missed his third straight game with an elbow injury.
Speaking of injuries, the Bulls have suffered more than their fair share this season, most notably to last year's MVP Derrick Rose, who is expected to miss his seventh straight game with a groin injury. Rip Hamilton will also be sidelined which has been the case much of this season. Chicago is also awaiting word from the NBA offices as to whether or not center Joakim Noah might face a suspension for throwing the ball at a referee in Saturday nights overtime win against the Raptors.
You would have thought the Bulls lost that one after hearing coach of the year candidate Tom Thibodeau rant about Chicago's lack of preparation in the 102-101 victory. He should have been in a better mood considering the Bulls had just clinched the first official playoff spot this year. Carlos Boozer had a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds while Luol Deng scored 23 including the OT game winner.
The Bulls are 40-10 on the season, leading the Eastern Conference by 3.5 games over Miami. They are an impressive 20-4 at home. Denver is 26-23, in a three way battle for seventh place in the West. Their overall road record sits at an even 11-11. Looking at the sportsbook website, Chicago is a 7 point home favorite on a $110/$100 wager with the same moneyline on the over/under set at 196.
