NBA Playoffs action between the Nuggets and Hornets moves to New Orleans for game 3 on the NBA basketball odds board. NBA Playoffs fans were paid off by Denver in the first two games of this series against the NBA basketball odds.
In game 1 of this NBA Playoffs series the Nuggets scored a 113-84 win as 6.5-point home chalks with the game going over the total of 195.5. Chauncey Billups lit it up for Denver and their backers against the NBA basketball odds with 36 points, which was a game best. Nene added 14 rebounds in the Denver win. Chris Paul was the top New Orleans scorer with 21 points.
In the second game of this NBA Playoffs series Denver scored a 108-93 win as 6.5-point home chalks with the game going over the total of 200.5. Billups again was the NBA Playoffs star as he scored 31 points for best in the game. Carmelo Anthony chipped in 22 points and 9 rebounds, making for strong start to the NBA Playoffs for Denver.
One of the big intangibles in handicapping the NBA Playoffs is motivational edge and New Orleans would likely have a strong edge for game 3 of this series. It's a "must win" game as if they lose it they will be facing elimination from the NBA Playoffs in game 4. Beyond that this will be their first home game of the NBA Playoffs and a Saturday night date will ensure a huge draw at the gate.
Denver has been playing excellent basketball for the past month, however, as since March 23 the Nuggets are 10-4 against the spread. Since April they have also been trending over with a mark of 6-3 over the total. Denver's late surge allowed them to overtake the Portland Trailblazers for the top spot in the northwest division and secure home court advantage for the opening two rounds of the playoffs as the number two seed. The Nuggets are a strong offensive team that ranked 6th overall while their defense ranked just 18th in the NBA.
