NBA betting fans may find the best series in the opening round on the NBA odds board between the Houston Rockets and Portland Trailblazers. NBA betting for this series will commence with game one on Saturday. 4-seeded Portland will be a slight chalk against the NBA odds to take the series.
The Houston Rockets enter the NBA betting post season with a record of 53-29 straight up and 40-41-1 against the NBA odds. Defense is the NBA betting strength of the Rockets as they finished 7th overall in the league. Houston's offense, however, ranked just 17th in the NBA.
Houston was a break even team against the NBA betting board in road action and trended slightly over the total. Yao Ming is the key component to the Rockets on both ends of the floor as he led Houston in scoring with 19.7 points per game while also leading in rebounds with 10 per game. Houston enters this series with some NBA betting momentum as they closed out the regular season with 4 payoffs in their final 6 games.
The Portland Trailblazers, however, enter post season NBA betting action with considerably more momentum than the Rockets. Portland ended the NBA betting regular season with 13 payoffs in their final 16 games.
Portland was 26-14 against the spread at home this year and was an effective NBA betting chalk with a mark of 33-20 against the spread. The Blazers finished 14th overall on offense while ranking 4th overall on defense.
