NBA betting value on Phoenix has plummeted while the Sixers have had better than expected results for those who bet on NBA games. The Phoenix Suns began the NBA betting season with high hopes under new coach Terry Porter, who promised a crackdown on the Suns free-wheeling ways and a stronger effort on defense.
The Suns started off well enough on Porter’s plan but it didn’t take long for Phoenix to revert back to their old style of play. The results have been a bet on NBA disaster. Phoenix had an overall NBA betting record of 27-21 straight up but was just 16-29-2 against the NBA betting odds.
Worse yet, they have gone into a recent NBA betting free fall. From January 19 through February 6 the Suns got the cash in just three out of ten games. In road action Phoenix has covered just 9 out of 23 games with 14 of those 23 games having gone over the total.
Further proof that these are indeed the same old Suns comes in the NBA rankings which show that Phoenix is ranked a most impressive 3rd on offense but an embarrassing 26th on defense. The Philadelphia 76ers recovered from a slow start to the NBA betting season to climb above the .500 mark and into post season contention.
Philadelphia had high bet on NBA expectations to start the year as they acquired Elton Brand from the Clippers. Brand is now out for the season but Philly has actually had better NBA betting results since his injury. Philadelphia had an overall NBA betting record of 25-24 straight up and 24-23-2 against the spread.
Philadelphia has been break even at home with an NBA betting mark of 12-12-2 against the board as a host with just 9 out of 26 home games going over the total. The Sixers ranked 24th on offense as their NBA betting strength has been their 10th ranked defense.
