NBA betting fans will have their choice of Houston or Charlotte, who have been two of the hottest teams that you could bet on basketball with recently. The Houston Rockets have had a solid NBA betting season and their playoff position has never been in doubt.
They have not, however, been the best value that a handicapper could bet on basketball with, at least until recently. Houston caught fire after the NBA all star break and covered 7 of their first 10 games against the NBA betting board when coming back from the layoff.
Houston had an overall NBA betting record of 40-23 straight up and 30-32-1 against the spread. The Rockets were a reliable NBA betting “over” team on the road with a mark of 19-12 over the total. Yao Ming has been a solid NBA betting asset this year as he has led the Rockets in scoring with an average of 19.7 points per game.
Yao also led the Rockets in rebounds with 9.6 per game. Houston was a middle of the road 16th in the NBA for offense but a nice 7th overall on defense. Thanks to their playing in the weak eastern conference, the Charlotte Bobcats have a realistic shot at the NBA betting post season.
The Bobcats were just two and a half games out of the eighth and final playoff spot in the eastern conference with a quarter of the season yet to go. Charlotte has been one of the best values to bet on basketball with this season. The Bobcats had an overall NBA betting record of 27-35 straight up and 37-25 against the spread.
Charlotte was 20-13 against the NBA betting board at home and went over the NBA betting total in just 27 out of 62 games. From February 25 through March 6 the Bobcats covered 5 consecutive games. From February 18 through March 6 the Bobcats went under the total in 6 out of 9 games.
