NBA betting Monday includes a matchup of probable 7 and 8 seeds for the eastern conference playoffs to bet on basketball with. NBA betting fans have seen Chicago provide good value while Detroit has been one of the worst values on the board to bet on basketball with.
For much of the NBA betting season the Chicago Bulls were given up for dead and nobody that likes to bet on basketball gave them any chance to make the post season. But since January 25 the Bulls have been one of the most profitable commodities in all of NBA betting.
From that date through April 9 the Bulls were 23-11 against the spread while catapulting past a number of teams in the weak eastern conference to find themselves positioned for the NBA betting post season. The leading reason for the resurgence of the Bulls has been their offense, which ranked 8th in the league and is lead by Ben Gordon, who was averaging 20.5 points per game. The Bulls defense, on the other hand, is a cause for concern entering the NBA betting post season as it ranked only 21st in the league.
The Detroit Pistons had an overall NBA betting record of 39-40 straight up and just 34-45 against the spread. Worse yet, the Pistons had a home NBA betting mark of just 13-27 against the spread. Detroit has been a poor value as a chalk with a mark of just 20-28-1 against the spread. Detroit is a virtual mirror opposite of the Bulls. The Piston's NBA betting strength is their 6th ranked defense, which is also one of the most physical units in the league.
The Pistons inept offense, which ranked 28th, has been the drag on their season. Tayshaun Prince "led" Detroit in "scoring" with a light average of just 14.2 points per game, which illustrates just how bad the unit has performed this year. From March 22 through April 10 Detroit was just 4-7 against the spread. Chicago won and covered the last matchup in this series 99-91 as 5-point home chalks on March 24.
