NBA betting odds will factor in the recent improvement of Detroit and the up and down basketball betting pattern of Houston. It was only a couple of weeks ago that the Detroit Pistons reached rock bottom against the NBA betting odds and were facing the danger of falling out of the top 8 in the eastern conference.
Since that time, however, the Pistons have begun to click against the NBA betting odds and they now have a firm hold on the 6th spot in the east. Detroit had an overall basketball betting record of 33-31 straight up and 27-37 against the NBA betting odds.
The Pistons have been a fairly reliable “under” team against the NBA betting odds as just 28 out of their 64 games have gone over the total. Detroit’s strength against the NBA betting odds has been their 5th ranked defense while their offense was ranked only 28th best in the NBA.
From February 25 through March 13 the Pistons were 7-2 against the spread for their best stretch against the NBA betting odds this season. The Houston Rockets have been inconsistent all season against the NBA betting odds. Houston had an overall basketball betting record of 43-24 straight up and 32-34-1 against the NBA betting odds.
Houston was just 22-27-1 against the NBA betting odds as a favorite and just 15-18-1 against the spread as a host. Houston was 14-20 under the total as a host this year. The Rockets are similar to the Pistons in that they are a defensive oriented team. Houston ranked 7th overall on defense and 18th overall on offense.
Yao Ming has been the main asset for the Rockets as he led the team in scoring with an average of 19.7 points per game. Yao also led the team in rebounding with an average of 9.6 per game. The Rockets got the cash in 8 out of 13 games from February 17 through March 13.
