NBA betting odds have been in fluctuation on both teams, who have both gone through recent basketball betting swings of fortune. Up and until February 22 the New York Knicks were clicking nicely against the NBA betting odds.
New York had climbed into the thick of the eastern conference playoff race but then suffered a basketball betting loss of value as they attracted too much attention from both their opponents and the betting public. From February 22 through March 4 New York went 2-4 against the NBA betting odds.
The Knicks had an overall record of 25-35 straight up and 34-26 against the NBA betting odds. New York was 18-12 against the NBA betting odds in away games and went under the total 16 out of 28 road games. The Knicks were a solid 25-18 against the NBA betting odds as a dog.
New York was still in the eastern conference post season race, just two and a half games behind eighth place Chicago with a quarter of the regular season still to go. The Detroit Pistons were able to slam on the breaks before suffering a total crash to their post season hopes.
From February 25 through March 6 the Pistons were 5-0 against the NBA betting odds, which stopped a horrific basketball betting stretch prior to that in which Detroit went 4-17 against the NBA betting odds.
Detroit’s late success against the NBA betting odds has given them a firm grip on a post season spot in the eastern conference and improved their overall record to 31-29 straight up and 25-35 against the NBA betting odds. Detroit was still, however, one of the worst values on the board as a host with a mark of 9-22 against the spread.
The Pistons were also just 15-23 against the spread as a chalk. New York defeated Detroit 104-92 as 6.5-point home dogs on December 7 in the series’ last meeting with the game going under the total of 207.
