Bet on the NBA Today the NBA All-Star Game starting line up was announced, and it includes star athletes Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James, and Kobe Bryant, to name a few.
The game will take place February 20th, 2011 at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles. There were some close calls as the voting came to an end; Carmelo Anthony narrowly took the vote over Lakers’ Pau Gasoi and earned himself a spot as a Forward for the Western Conference. Derrick Rose overtook the Celtics’ Rajon Rondo for a Guard position on the Eastern Conference. Amar’e Stoudemire beat out Bostons’ Kevin Garnett and is now officially the first Knick to be voted into an All-Star starting lineup in almost 20 years! The last being Patrick Ewing in 1992.
There are already some injury replacements being scouted the list as Western Conference center Yao Ming is out for the season.
So after the reserves are named commissioner Stern will announce a replacement for Yao and any other players who pull out. Gregg Popovich, who will coach the West All-Stars, will select one of his reserves to take Yao's starting spot. Gasol, who played center during Andrew Bynum's injury, would be a likely choice, as would Pop's own big man Tim Duncan. The starting line up is set, but now the NBA head coaches have to vote on 7 reserve spots for each conference. It is against the fules for the coaches to vote for their own players. Other rules they follow include: they must pick at least one center, two forwards and two guards.
When betting on the NBA note the starting line up for the Eastern Conference: Guard: Derrick Rose of the Bulls, Guard Dwyane Wade of the Heat, Forward LeBron James of the Heat, Forward Amar’e Stoudemire of the Knicks and Center Dwight Howard of the Magic.
Basketball betting fans should also note the Western Conference starting lineup: Guard Kobe Bryant from the Lakers, Guard Chris Paul of the Hornets, Forward Kevin Durant of the Thunder, Forward Carmelo Anthony of the Nuggets, and originally Center Yao Ming of the Rockets, soon to be replaced.
