Bet on the NBAAlthough there is only one NBA game played this weekend, it is one of the most exciting games of the season. It's All-Star Weekend in the NBA, and the All-Star Game pitting the Eastern Conference against the Western Conference will be played on Sunday. The West is lead by LA Laker Kobe Bryant and Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant. The East features Chicago's Derrick Rose and Miami's LeBron James.
The 2011 All Star Game will be played Sunday night in Los Angeles at the Staples Center and will be televised on TNT. The best players as voted on by the fans will be featured in the game. Some notable names from the East include Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett of the Celtics and Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic. The West will feature Yao Ming of the Tim Duncan of the San Antonio Spurs, Blake Griffin of the LA Clippers, and Chris Paul of the New Orleans Hornets.
Doc Rivers of the Boston Celtics will be coaching the Eastern Conference stars, while Gregg Popovic of the San Antonio Spurs will head the Western Conference team. Because Popovich is coaching the West, you can safely assume that Tim Duncan will be the starting center.
The NBA All-Star Game is always a fun experience to watch, as it is such a high-scoring game played in such a free-wheeling manner. The Eastern Conference has history on their side, leading the series overall 36-23, and it was the East that won last year in a high-scoring but close game, finishing at 141-139. The last time the Western Conference won was two years ago, winning the game 146-119.
Along with a high-scoring game, you can expect a lot of high stats in the game. Last year, four players had double-doubles: Dwayne Wade, Amar'e Stoudemire, Chris Bosch, and Carmelo Anthony. All four are returning All-Stars for 2011, and Wade, Stoudemire, and Anthony are expected starters. Because the games are usually such high-scoring affairs, most NBA betting fans usually take the over.
