Bet on the NBAFollowing one of the more thrilling games of the early NBA postseason, the Thunder try for win number two in Oklahoma City tonight against the defending champion Dallas Mavericks in Chesapeake Energy Arena. The game can be seen nationally as the second half of a TNT Monday night double header following the Knicks and Heat. Estimated tip off is 9:30ET.
Thunder super star and the leading scorer for the third regular season in a row, Kevin Durant, assumed the role of hero as he so often does in the opener on Saturday. With just one and a half seconds left on the clock he clanked one ii from the top of the circle to win it for Oklahoma City. Final NBA wagering score: 99-98.
But it was not just the last second shot that defined his performance. He scored 25 overall and grabbed 6 boards, dished out 4 assists and blocked four shots for good measure. Not a bad nights work, super star or not. Durant's usual partner in crime, Russel Westbrook had his usual good effort leading OKlahoma City with 28 points.
With his head possibly still ringing from the celebratory elbow of Metta World Peace, who did'nt exactly live up to his name, probable sixth man of the year award winner, James Harden had 19 points. There may have been some after effects of the elbow though, as he turned the ball over 5 times.
As usual, the Mavs were led by Dirk Nowitzki with 25 points and Dallas got a nice effort from Jason Terry and Shawn Marion with 20 and 17 points respectively. Dallas did outrebound the Thunder 42-36. Oklahoma City played some shut down defense though, blocking 11 shots total.
After game one, this series has the look of a seven game affair as it should, with last seasons champs looking to avoid an early dismissal from this years playoffs. Oklahoma City is still a sportsbook betting 6.5 point home favorite in game two on a wager of $110 to win $100. Another bet of $110 will be needed on the over/under of 193.5.
