Bet on the NBAAfter splitting the first two games of this opening round NBA playoff series, the Hawks and Celtics switch venues from Atlanta's Philips Arena to the TD Bank Garden in Beantown tonight for game three between the Atlanta Hawks and Boston Celtics. The opening tip off is scheduled for 7:30ET and can be viewed nationally on ESPN.
In game one of this best of seven matchup, the Hawks seemed better prepared as they got off to a fast start against the aging Celtics. The score was 31-18 after the first quarter, as Josh Smith had 9 points and 5 rebounds in the opening twelve minutes of play. He finished with 22 points and an impressive 18 rebounds for the night.
Kevin Garnett ended up with 20 points for the Celt's, but Paul Pierce was no where to be found, finishing with just 12 points while missing all 6 attempts from beyond the arc. Boston as a team, were 0-11 in three point tries. Atlanta was victorious in the end by a margin of 9 points, with a 83-74 final score.
Almost as of as much concern to Boston as the loss of the game, was the subsequent losing of Rajon Rondo for game two after he was suspended for that one after bumping an official while debating a foul call. The Rondo-less Celtics, not to mention still missing Ray Allen, responded in game two with an 87-80 victory. Paul Pierce rebounded figuratively from his "off" performance in game one and literally by grabbing 14 boards to go along with 36 points in game two. Kevin Garnett had a servicable double, double with 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Atlanta's Josh Smith left this game with a knee injury and is doubtful for tonight, so be sure to check here to see if the odds change before the game. The Hawks were already missing Al Horford and Zach Pachulia which may be problematic, to say the least, as this series moves forward.
Boston is a solid 8 point home online betting favorite tonight, if you are willing to lay $110 to win $100. The same $110 will be needed to bet the over/under of 173.5 total points.
