Bet on the NBALebron James and the crew from South Beach head north to Motor City in a matchup of the Miami Heat and Detroit Pistons tonight at The Palace of Auburn Hills beginning at 7:30ET.
James is expected to play, even after flopping around on the floor in the Heat's victory against Phoenix 99-95 at home Tuesday night. He hit the hardwood twice, coming away with neck and elbow stiffness, poor baby.
Chris Bosh performed well against the Suns contributing 29 points and 8 rebounds to the winning cause. James and Wade had 20 and 19 points respectively. Center Joel Anthony is expected back after missing Tuesdays game but Mike Miller is questionable with a sprained ankle while missing the last five. The Heat signed seven year NBA veteran Ronny Turiaf to assist with their inside game and he might see some action in this one.
Tonight's game opens a quick three game road trip for Miami who are 14-9 in away contests. Over the past ten games, Miami is yielding almost ten more points per game on the road, than at home. They have beat the Pistons six straight in Detroit. They are 6-2 in their previous eight games overall. The Heat hold a season mark of 34-11 and trail the Eastern Conference leading Chicago Bulls by three games, but only one in the loss column.
The Pistons are returning to the Palace after suffering a 1-4 road trip. They have lost their last three in a row and are 16-30 overall. They were beat by the Nuggets in Denver Wednesday night 116-115. Ben Gordon tied a league record with a perfect nine for nine from beyond the three point arc in that one. He wound up with an impressive 45 points in the contest as well. This was his first start since January. The Pistons came back from down 25 points, only to lose it in the last five seconds.
Miami is an 8.5 point road favorite in the sportsbook on a $110/$100 wager. You will have to lay another $110 to bet the over/under of 192.5.
