Bet on the NBAKing James and his merry band from South Beach, travel to Speedway City on Monday night as the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers match up at Bankers Life Fieldhouse at 7:00ET.
The Heat are coming off a disappointing loss, to say the least, at the hands of the Oklahoma City Thunder 103-87 on a nationally televised game Sunday night. Going in to that one, it was thought you might have been watching a preview of the NBA finals, assuming Miami can get past Chicago in the East.
If that was the case, the Heat may have to wait another year for the big three to win a title together. It was Miami's worst loss this year. They allowed the Thunder to shoot 52.7 percent from the field. All Star Kevin Durant had 28 points and 8 assists. Dwayne Wade had 22 points while James chipped in 17, but the Heat were manhandled by the stronger more aggressive Thunder, forcing them into 21 turnovers. 10 of them committed by the aforementioned dynamic duo.
Miami has an overall record of 35-12, trailing Chicago by 3.5 games and are 15-10 on the road. This game marks the end of a three game trip. The Heat have enjoyed success against the Pacers, winning the last five in a row. James has been especially productive averaging over 30 points per game during this span.
Indiana is coming off a nice win in Milwaukee on Saturday 125-104. George Hill led the Pacers with 24 points while Roy Hibbert had 16 of his own. It was an all around team effort as David West and Danny Granger each had 15. This will be another physical test for the Heat. Coach Frank Vogel preaches hard nosed physical play to the Pacers who normally respond in kind. Indiana currently sits sixth in the West with an overall mark of 28-19, trailing fifth place Atlanta by half a game. They are 14-7 at home.
Due to their past success versus Indiana, Miami has been listed in basketball betting odds as a 3 point road favorite if you're willing to lay $110 to win $100. The same moneyline applies to the over/under of 192.5
