Bet on the NBAWith both teams having slim chances of improving their playoff positions for the post season beginning this weekend, it will be interesting to see how they play it, or actually who they play, or dont play tonight. Miami travels to Boston with the tip off at TD Gardens scheduled for 8:00ET.
The game can be seen nationally as the first game of a TNT special edition Tuesday night doubleheader. Miami must win both of their remaining games, while Chicago loses both of theirs, to catch the Bulls for the Eastern Conference best record. That would appear unlikely, since Chicago plays at home against Cleveland in their season finale on Thursday. Boston would seem to have a better chance to end with a better record than Atlanta and thereby securing home court advantage for the first round. The Celtics need to pick up one game with two to play for both.
For the Heat, Chris Bosh has missed the last four games due to a sore leg muscle and Dwayne Wade missed the last game with a dislocated finger on his left ( non shooting ) hand. LeBron sat out Saturday nights game to rest, but then returned on Sunday to score 32 points in a 93-85 victory over Houston. He added 8 rebounds and 5 assists for good measure. Udonis Haslem grabbed 11 boards for Miami.
Houston actually led in this one with 6:31 left in the game before Superman donned his cape for the Heat and the rest was history. There is a chance Bosh will play tonight against Boston as a warmup to the playoffs, but Wade is most likely out and James may be rested again as well.
Boston in the meantime, gave four of their usual five starters the night off on Friday, with Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen all sitting. With that, they dropped the game to the very team they are presumably attempting to catch for home court, Atlanta 97-92. Pierce and Garnett could see action tonight, but both Allen and Rondo are highly doubtful.
Boston has been installed as a 5 point online betting home favorite on a $110/$100 moneyline. The same moneyline holds for the over/under of 160 points.
