Bet on the NBAAfter stealing game one in Memphis and surviving two close calls at the Staples Center in Tinsel town, the Clippers find themselves in the position of eliminating the Grizzlies back in Tennessee tonight. The game can be viewed nationally at 9:30ET as the second half of a TNT postseason doubleheader following the Knicks and Heat matchup.
When this series began a week and a half ago it appeared Memphis would be off and running at home with a game one victory. However, with Los Angeles trailing 95-71 with just a little over nine minutes remaining in the game, the Clippers awoke from their funk and held Memphis but to a single basket the rest of the way and emerged with what can only be termed a miraculous 99-98 win.
On Saturday the series moved to Hollywood and the Clippers did all they could to provide a happy ending except shooting from the charity stripe, that is. In the final twelve seconds of this contest, L.A. missed five free throws in a row. That, along with Rudy Gay burying two 3 pointers in the same time frame set up as exciting an ending as one would expect from a good action flick. In the end, the hometown hero Clippers won the battle 87-86.
There was another thrilling ending to game four. Chris Paul donned the perrenial super hero's cape in overtime by scoring 8 points on 4 of 5 shooting during the extra session as the Clippers took a commanding 3-1 series lead with the 101-97 OT win.
The Grizzlies will have to figure out how to stop Paul and Blake Griffin tonight if they want to extend this series. Memphis is favored by 6 points at home tonight if you are willing to bet $110 to win $100. Another wager of $110 will be required to bet the over / under of 182.5.
