Bet on the NBAThe Los Angeles Clippers have reached their first playoffs since 2006 and have made it in for just the eighth team in the team's history dating back to 1970 when they were the Buffalo Braves.
The 40-26 Clippers won't have a home court advantage in Lob City though as they finished one game back behind their first round opponent, the 41-25 Memphis Grizzlies. The Clippers had a 2-1 advantage in the regular season against Memphis. The Grizzlies won the last game in the series on April 9.
The Memphis Grizzlies are coming off of a six game winning streak. This is in spite of Gilbert Arenas suffering from various injury concerns throughout the season. Arenas has 4.2 points per game this year, a number that is far from the 20.7 that he has averaged throughout his career.
Six players are getting at least ten points a game for the team. Rudy Gay has 19 and Marc Gasol has 14.6 along with nine rebounds per game. O.J. Mayo is also getting 12.6 points off of the bench. Mayo has played in every basketball betting game but has not started a single one.
The Los Angeles Clippers have gone from a running joke to a legitimate contender this year. Seven players are getting ten or more points per game. Blake Griffin and Chris Paul are the clear leaders with nearly twenty per game but Nick Young, who was picked up from Washington midway in the season, has become more prominent. He has around ten points per game this year for the Clippers but he is not as productive here as he was with the Wizards earlier this year.
Most experts are highly divided over who will win the series but it is believed that it could be extremely likely to go to seven games. What is known is that the Memphis Grizzles have 22/1 odds to win their first NBA title. The Clippers are not too far off with 28/1 odds to win their first one.
