Bet on the NBAThe Thunder can take their time rolling into San Antonio and even have time to take a stroll on the Riverwalk, or as Charles Barkley describes it, "the dirty creek" before game one of the NBA Western Conference Championship Series. The game is scheduled to tip off at the AT&T Center on Sunday at 8:30ET and can be viewed on TNT with the aforementioned Sir Charles, as well as Ernie, Kenny and Shaq.
This series, without a doubt, features the two teams who have been the best in the West all season being where they should be, with a chance to advance to the NBA Championship series. A strong argument can be made, that they are the two best teams in the NBA. Sorry LeBron and Dwayne.
The Spurs will be even better rested than the Thunder after sweeping away the Clippers last week, while barely breaking a sweat. The Thunder had a little problem, but a very little one at that, dispatching a sad Lakers squad in five games.
This series will be a classic youth versus experience showdown with the Thunders, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook facing off against Tim Duncan and Tony Parker. Throw in Sixth Man of the Year, James Harden for Oklahoma City and Manu Ginobeli for San Antonio and this should be something to see. The Thunder must exhibit their speed and quickness, with Durant driving to the basket on a regular basis unless, of course, he pitches it off to Westbrook for the open jumper.
The Spurs need Duncan to continue to play at a high level and Parker to run the floor like he owns it. The matchup between Duncan and the Thunders Kendrick Perkins may be more interesting than one might think and go a long way to determining if Oklahoma City can pull this off.
San Antonio has won an incredible eighteen in a row entering Sundays game one. The Spurs are 6/5 favorites to advance from this series and win the NBA Championship. The Thunder are 5/2 to do the same. In game one, San Antonio is a 5.5 point home favorite if you're willing to lay $110 to win $100. Another $110 will be needed to bet the over / under of 204.5 points.
