Bet on the NBAThe eighth-seeded Philadelphia 76ers made a huge upset over the top-ranked Chicago Bulls in the first round of the NBA playoffs. The Sixers, who went 4-2 against the injury-plagued Bulls, will be going against the four-seed Boston Celtics, a team that won a 4-2 series over Atlanta in the first round.
The series will start on Saturday night in Boston and will continue with the second game on Monday. The dates and times of the other games will be scheduled later Philadelphia had a 2-1 record over Boston in the regular season this year. Boston won their last game 103-79 on April 8.
Much has been made about the 76ers and how they were able to beat Chicago after the Bulls suffered from several injuries to many of its top players. However, the Sixers have made a run with five players getting ten or more points in each game. Andre Iguodala has particularly risen to the occasion with 12 points per game on average and 1.8 steals per game.
Jrue Holiday has been a workforce for the Sixers. He has been in at least forty minutes of four of the last five games. He currently has 18.2 points per game in the postseason.
The Boston Celtics had a 43.3% field goal percentage during the first round against Atlanta. Although it was stronger than what Philadelphia's 40.7%, the Celtics have dealt with several injury concerns and worries about the team's age.
Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen both missed a substantial amount of time in the series. Allen didn't even play in two of the games. Rondo missed one game but has led the team in the series with 11.8 assists and 3.4 steals per game.
Avery Bradley has also been playing through pain with a weak rotator cuff. This hasn't stopped him from playing in 25 minutes per game.
Individual lines for games are not available but the Celtics do have a 9/2 line for winning the East and 10/1 for the NBA championship. Philadelphia is down lower with 15/1 odds in the East and 35/1 odds in the league. These will be subject to change depending on what happens with the series as it goes along.
