Bet on the NBAThis semi finals NBA Eastern Conference playoff series between the Indiana Pacers and Miami Heat resumes tonight in South Beach. All the action can be seen nationally on TNT beginning at 8:00ET.
The East is all we have left to observe in the semi finals as the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder made quick work of their foes and now will meet each other to advance to the NBA Championship Series. After the first two games in this series, it looked as though the Pacers might be able to pull off an upset of the favored Heat, after stealing game two in Miami, who very rarely loses there and watching Chris Bosh go down with an abdominal strain that has kept him on the sidelines since.
The Heat had captured game one, 95-86, taking away some of Indiana's swagger after they had advanced through the first round versus Orlando. But they came back strong in games two and three, with the 78-75 victory at American Airlines Arena and an impressive 94-75 win at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indy. In that one, Lebron James did all he could in Bosh's absence but emerged with just 22 points while it took him taking 22 shots to get there.
Dwayne Wade was in effect a no show, except for the show he put on in a confrontation with coach Erik Spoelstra late in the contest. There was speculation Wade might be feeling the ill effects of some injuries suffered during the regular schedule. Wade had all of 5 points on 3 for 13 shooting.
Then came game four on Sunday, when the Pacers could have taken a commanding 3-1 lead back to tonights game in Florida. But King James and a much healthier looking D. Wade were not about to allow that to happen. LeBron had a monster game scoring 40 points, grabbing 18 boards and even pitching off 9 assists, while Wade scored 30 of his own.
The rest is history and we enter tonights game with the Heat reclaiming home court and the series tied at 2 wins apiece. Miami is a 6.5 point home favorite on a $110/$100 basketball moneyline. The same moneyline applies to the over / under of 180.5 total points.
