Bet on the NBAIn the past few days, there has been a lot of news from the elite teams in both the Eastern and Western Conferences. With a lot of great basketball being played, and at least one scary injury that may have important playoff consequences, the late stages of this NBA season have been more exciting than any in the recent past.

Bulls Blowout Hawks
After putting on a 40-point blowout performance in Chicago against the Sacramento Kings, you could have given the Bulls a pass if they played a subpar game in Atlanta against the Hawks. After all, it was a back-to-back game in a town against a team they had lost to before.

But the Bulls came out and got another blowout, keeping a 30-point margin of victory until the end of the game. It makes you realize just how good the Bulls are this year, and basketball fans in Chicago are starting to get that magical feeling of excitement they have not felt since Michael Jordan retired in 1998.

Suns Take Lakers to Triple Overtime
After realizing how good the Bulls are, watching the triple-overtime victory of the Lakers over the Suns makes you aware of how great the game of basketball can be. The Suns came back from a large second-half deficit to tie the game, forcing overtime.

The Lakers could not seal the game until the third overtime period, where they outscored the Suns by just 2 points to win. The defending NBA champions are playing their best ball of the season right now, going 13-1 since the All-Star break, and this was one of the best games in the past decade.

Tim Duncan's Scary Ankle Injury
The San Antonio Spurs have always relied on the leadership and solid basketball of Tim Duncan since he joined the team in the 1990s. But on Monday night in a game against the Golden State Warriors, Duncan fell awkwardly after making a jumper and sprained his left ankle.

He lay on the court clutching that foot for more than a minute before being helped off the court. Right now, no one really knows how long it will take for the 34-year-old to recover, but he will miss at least three games.
