Bet on the NBAWhen Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls last played the Milwaukee Bucks, Rose's back started giving him trouble and ended up keeping him on the bench for five games.
With their rematch tonight, Rose has already made his return and is looking none the worse for wear. It is almost as if the five-game rest was just what he needed, as he looks just as explosive and confident as ever.
The Bulls are coming off of a 90-79 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Monday night, which was Rose's first game back after dealing with his back spasms. He scored a game-high 23 points as the Bulls went up by 18 points in just the first quarter alone. And when he plays against the Bucks, the reigning MVP has been simply on fire.
In the three most recent Bulls victories over the Bucks, Rose has averaged 30 points and 11 assists per game. The Bulls have also defeated Milwaukee six straight times. Thus, it is no wonder why the sportsbook lists the Bulls as the 11 ½ favorites to win tonight in Chicago. The total is set at 190 ½, but expect the bulk of the scoring to come from the Chicago offense.
The Bucks are coming into this game off of a 93-90 loss to the Orlando Magic, and the Bucks are dealing with a list of injuries of their own. Their rebounding ability has deteriorated rapidly since Andrew Bogut broke his ankle in January. In fact, their rebounding differential is worst in the league, compared to Chicago's best in the league performance. Drew Gooden has also missed three games with a sprained wrist.
Milwaukee is 13-19 overall this season and 6-11 on the road. The Bulls are near the top of the Eastern Conference with a 26-8 overall record and are 12-2 at the United Center. With the current condition of the Bucks, this game should be a blowout. Chicago should win this game by more than 11 points; if not, they are under-performing against a team like the Bucks.
