Bet on the NBAMonday 12th March 2012, the stage is set for a match between the New Orleans Hornets and the Charlotte Bobcats.
The Hornets will host the Bobcats as the teams meet for the first of two meetings slated for this season. The Bobcats and the Hornets are two of the worst teams in the NBA, ranking at or near the bottom with the Washington Wizards.
The Hornets come to the match fresh-off a 95-89 win against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday, March 10th . However, they have had to contend with quite a number of injuries with Emeka Okafor, Carl Landry, Eric Gordon and Jason Smith falling victim and remaining on the bench. Lady luck might shine on them and give them the first back to back win since February 17th. They have used a total of 15 different starting line-ups this season and this game seems no different. Their star player, Chris Kaman appears to be in good form and may just score several points for the team.
The Bobcats have not fared so well and go into the match as the underdogs, smarting from a humiliating 95-122 defeat to Oklahoma City Thunder. They have also lost their last three games and may have a point to prove in this one. Luckily for them, they have not suffered major injuries so far in the season. With their opponents nursing injuries, this may be their best chance of getting their 3rd road win of the season. Their key player Bismack Biyombo will certainly give it his best shot. They have a poor record at Louisiana having lost 6 of the 7 games they have played against the Hornets there. Their overall record is worse having won only 3 of the last 13 Bobcats at Hornets games.
For both teams, the point guards have had to adjust to continuously changing line-ups but they take it all in stride. The NBA odds list the Hornets as -7 favorites to defeat the even-worse Bobcats. The total is set at 182 ½, as neither team is especially proficient in either offense or defense.
