Bet on the NBAThe Los Angeles Lakers are trying to get ahead in the standings in the hopes of having a better playoff spot.
The 35-22 Lakers are only half a game ahead of the Los Angeles Clippers for the Pacific Division lead and the third spot in the Western Conference. The Lakers will be trying to get a little higher up as they go after the worst team in the West, the 15-41 New Orleans Hornets.
The Hornets will simply be trying to keep the Lakers from sweeping the season series. The Lakers had a 107-101 overtime win on March 14 and an 88-85 win on March 31. The game will be at the New Orleans Arena, the site of the overtime win from earlier in the series.
Kobe Bryant is currently questionable for the Lakers. Bryant suffered from an inflammation around his leg and was unable to play in the Lakers' last game on Saturday, a 125-105 loss to Phoenix. Bryant leads all players in the NBA with 28.1 points per game. There has also been some talk with the Los Angeles Lakers about Andrew Bynum's ejection from this past Friday's game against Houston.
The New Orleans Hornets lost one of their top players to injuries recently. Jarrett Jack suffered a stress fracture around his foot. He will be out for the remainder of the season. Jack was averaging 15.6 points per game, thus making him the top scoring threat on the team. Chris Kaman is the currently leader among healthy players on the Hornets with 13.2. He did have 21 points and 10 rebounds during the Hornets' last game, a 99-90 win over Minnesota from this past Saturday.
The odds for the game are in the Lakers favor but not by much. The Lakers are -2 favorites according to the sportsbook website to win the game. There is also a 186 over/under bet listed for this match between these two teams who have suffered from different fates throughout this entire season.
