Basketball betting experts expected a better season from the New York Knicks and Golden State Warriors although the Knicks have at least provided some bet on NBA board value.
When the basketball betting season started there was considerable optimism in New York as the front office problems were swept clean and new coach Mike D’Antoni arrived after a very successful stint in Phoenix where he and the Suns were bet on NBA favorites and perennial post season contenders.
The D’Antoni era started off well as the Knicks earned five basketball betting payoffs in their first nine games but since that time they have been struggling to keep ahead of Toronto in avoiding the basement of the Atlantic division.
D’Antoni teams are known for exciting and explosive offenses and this has been the basketball betting style for the Knicks this year. New York ranked an impressive 5th in the NBA stat charts for offense. The Knicks basketball betting problem has been their horrific 27th ranked defense.
The Knicks have been a profitable team, however, as they had a 28-21 mark against the spread and they were a profitable 13-10 in road action. Just 8 out of their 23 road games went over the total. Golden State head coach Don Nelson has had his share of basketball betting frustrations as well.
Nelson finally had bet on NBA handicappers believing that this long struggling franchise was ready to turn the corner and become a consistent basketball betting playoff contender but after a nice 4-1 start against the spread to start the season Golden State went into free fall and went 18-25-3 afterwards.
Golden State is a basketball betting clone of the Knicks when it comes to style and results as they ranked 2nd in the league on offense while ranking a disgraceful 30th overall on defense.
Golden State has had their best basketball betting results at home, however, as they failed to get the cash in just 8 out of 23 home games and were also a strong 16-7 over the total as a host.
