Bet on the NBAEach week of the 2010-2011 NBA season seems to have brought with it some new drama for the Miami Heat team, from preseason predictions of 7 championships, to exciting winning streaks, to tear-inducing losing streaks. And then, on the other hand, there are the boring San Antonio Spurs, accumulating the best record in the league.

The last time these two teams met, the hum-drum Spurs absolutely destroyed the Heat in a 129-95 blowout at the AT&T Center in San Antonio. When these two teams meet tonight in Miami, will LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh be able to exact their revenge? The sportsbook is predicting Miami victory, favoring the Heat by -4 points. The total is set at 198.5.

The Heat are coming off of two wins against potential playoff rivals. They beat the Los Angeles Lakers 94-88, then defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 118-85. But these two wins are coming on the back of their five-game losing streak when they faced off against some of the best teams in the league. Their previous 125-95 loss to the Spurs was the third of that five-game streak.

The Spurs' strength in that March 4 game was their three-point shooting. They nailed a franchise-record 17 threes, and got out to a 36-12 lead in the first quarter. Miami never really recovered from that devastating first quarter. The Spurs can not count on another franchise-record tonight to give them a huge lead early in the game.

A more appropriate game to look at is the loss the Spurs experienced to the LA Lakers two games after the Heat blowout. Having lost to the Spurs twice already this season, Los Angeles was out for revenge, and they got it in a 99-83 win over San Antonio. If the Heat are likewise out for revenge tonight, the game could be the polar opposite of March 4.
