Belmont Stakes odds will be posted as horse betting reaches the final climatic stage of the Triple Crown racing season. Belmont Stakes odds will not include the winner of the Preakness Stakes and horse betting sensation Rachel Alexandra, the super filly that captivated the world with her win.
The owners of Rachel Alexandra felt that it was not in her best interest to post for the Belmont Stakes odds as the stress of running the Preakness and the Kentucky Oaks was determined to be too much for her and a horse betting run at the Belmont to great of a risk to her health.
Mine That Bird, winner of the Kentucky Derby and a strong 2nd place horse in the Preakness Stakes will post for the Belmont Stakes odds. Mine That Bird has shown excellent endurance in the first two legs of the Triple Crown, which would seem to make him ideally suited for a run against the Belmont Stakes odds as the Belmont is the longest run of the three Triple Crown races at a mile and a half in length. Mine That Bird will have his jockey back for the run against the Belmont Stakes odds as Calvin Borel, who rode the gelding to victory in the Kentucky Derby only to ditch him for Rachel Alexandra in the Preakness, returns for the mount.
Dunkirk will also run against the Belmont Stakes odds. Dunkirk was highly touted for the Kentucky Derby but had a poor run. He has not raced since the Derby, however, and will have fresh legs against the Belmont Stakes odds. Charitable Man is getting a lot of attention for his run against the Belmont Stakes odds as he won the Peter Pan last month to bolster his resume and credentials.
Chocolate Candy is the Jenny Craig owned horse that was also highly touted for the Kentucky Derby but finished 5th in the slop for that race. Chocolate Candy, like Dunkirk, is also well rested as he has not run since the Derby and will have fresh legs. Chocolate Candy finished 2nd in the prestigious Santa Anita Derby to Pioneer of the Nile, who incidentally is going to skip the Belmont Stakes.
