Golf betting for the weekend of August 6-9 will include the Legends Reno Tahoe Open from the Montreux Golf and Country Club in Reno, Nevada. Golf betting fans will handicap the Tahoe Open event that features a total purse of $3 million with a winning share of $540,000 and a total of 250 FedExCup points on the line.
This will be the 11th consecutive year that golf betting will take place at the Tahoe Open. The course was designed by legendary pro Jack Nicklaus as a signature course that is a par 72 with a yardage of 7472 making it the third longest course on the PGA Tour. The Legends golf betting event is one of the most popular stops on the tour and will feature a field of 132 PGA Tour members.
Last year Parker McLachlin won the only golf betting event of his career at The Legends as he defeated Brian Davis and John Rollins by 7 strokes as he shot an 18 under par. McLachlin currently ranks 175th in the golf betting FedExCup standings. He has played in 19 events this year with just 7 cuts made and 3 top 25 finishes. He will return to the site of his greatest golf betting moment and try and defend his title.
Steve Flesch won The Legends golf betting event in 2007 and is also scheduled to be in this year’s field. Flesch currently ranks 109th in the golf betting FedExCup standings and has 4 career wins. This year he has played in 18 events with 9 cuts made and 2 top 10 finishes. Flesch’s best finish this year was at The Masters as he placed tied for 6th. He also finished 7th at this year’s Transitions Championship.
One of the top names scheduled for The Legends this year is Rocco Mediate, who made his fame in a heartbreaking playoff loss to Tiger Woods in the 2008 US Open. Mediate ranks 143rd on the FedExCup standings and has played in 15 events this year with 14 cuts made and just 1 top 25 finish. Mediate has 5 career PGA Tour wins.
