Golf betting will turn its attention to the most prestigious event on the PGA Tour as the Masters Tournament takes place April 9 through April 12 from Augusta, GA. Golf betting will get extra attention and action on the Masters Tournament, even from gamblers that normally don't wager on golf as this is the premier event of the PGA season.

Golf betting fans will of course look first at Tiger Woods.  Woods has made three previous 2009 starts prior to the Masters Tournament and he is coming off a most impressive golf betting performance in the Arnold Palmer Invitational two weeks ago as he beat out Sean O'Hair by a single stroke with Zach Johnson two strokes behind.

Woods has finished in the top 10 in 2 out of those 3 golf betting appearances.  Woods has not had much recent golf betting success at Augusta after tearing up the course in his earlier years and he will be more than motivated to put on a new green jacket, as he has not been fitted since 2005.  He has a total of 4 in his closet but the first three came in 1997, 2001, and 2002.

Another man to watch that could bring exceptional golf betting value is Geoff Ogilvy.  Ogilvy has led the early stages of the FedExCup standings and had 2 wins to start out 2009 out of a total of 6 events played.

Phil Mickelson will attract a lot of attention and dollars at the Masters Tournament.  "Lefty" is considered by most golf betting experts to be the second best player on the PGA Tour after Woods.  Mickelson had 2 wins in his first 6 golf betting appearances to begin the 2009 season.  Mickelson has two green jackets as he was fitted in 2004 and 2006.

Nick Watney may not be a big golf betting name but that could be a great thing for gamblers seeking value as he is unlikely to attract much attention even though he started off the 2009 golf betting season with 1 win and 3 top 10 finishes out of his first 8 starts and a 3rd place ranking in the FedExCup standings.
