Bet on the MLBThese 2012 New York Yankees are increasingly looking like the "Bronx Bombers" of old as the ALDS series with their AL East co-tenant Baltimore Orioles enters game two tonight. "Play Ball!" will be heard in Oriole Park at Camden Yards at 8:07 PM ET. Who needs a Monday Night Football matchup of the Texans and Jets when you've got MLB postseason play to watch on TBS?
It took awhile, but the Yanks (1-0) appear poised to advance to the ALCS after scoring 5 runs in the ninth inning yesterday in their 7-2 victory over the O's (0-1). The rally was started by Russel Martin's solo round tripper and capped by a sac fly off the bat of Nick Swisher.
Speaking of vintage Yankees, none other than lefty Andy Pettitte at 40 years of age gets the nod from Joe Girardi for N.Y. and Wei-Yin Chen makes his first postseason start ever for the Orioles. Pettitte missed almost 3 months this season with a leg injury. He posted a 5-4 record in 12 total attempts and was 2-1 with a 1.62 ERA since returning in mid September. Chen struggled against the Yankees during the year, going 1-2 with a 5.25 ERA overall.
