Bet on the MLBThe Rangers depart the wide expanses of Texas and head for the big city to face the New York Yankees tonight in the first of a four game set. The Rangers spent the weekend at home where they took two of three from the Men from Motown. That series got off to a shaky start when Texas dropped the opener to Detroit on Friday.

That first game included two home runs. A 3 run blast off the bat of Prince Fielder and then an inside the park roundtripper by Austin Jackson. Nelson Cruz made an attempt at a diving catch in the seventh inning that he was unable to come up with, while Jackson streaked around the bases.

Josh Hamilton homered for Texas in the 6-2 loss, tying him with Chicago's Adam Dunn for the MLB lead at 31. Cruz was a factor offensively in the Rangers coming back to take game two Saturday 2-1. He scored the winning run on Mike Olts pinch hit, walk off single in the bottom of the 9th after two were out.
